One of the hottest makeup trends this year is the smokey eye look. Some women have tried to achieve this look, but have failed miserably. The first thing that you will want to consider is the type of makeup that you are using. If you are using a quality makeup, the results that you get will be much better. For a smooth application, and great endurance to last you the entire day- a well trusted brand is a must. While the most expensive brands are not necessary, you do want a high quality formula. Look for dark colors such as gray, charcoal and black- and maybe a hint of purple.

Next, lets talk about the application of the shadows. You will want to begin with a primer that will help your makeup go on much more smoothly. This will also ensure that you keep the flawless look throughout the day. Then use the lightest color shadow to cover the entire eyelid. Then you will follow up with a medium grey color that will be blended up to the crease of your eye. Ensure proper blending of this before moving on.

Using a crease brush, you will then want to use the darkest color- usually black- to define the crease of your eye. Blend as you go, and it will give you a great look. Once you have done the shadows, you will then move on to the eyeliner. Using black will make this look much better. You will want to line the bottom and the top. Smudge it if you like, or leave it more defined for a flawless look that you will absolutely love.

Once you have finished with the liner, then you will want to finish it with mascara. Use black mascara, as it goes better with the smokey look. Coat both the bottom and the top lashes twice to really make your eyes pop. When you follow these tips, you will have the perfect look.
